A vote will be taken at the November meeting. If you have any other nominations, please send them to A. Brooks no later than Nov. 29, 2011.
- Terminology Worksheets follow-up
Again, please e-mail your terminology worksheets to A. Brooks ASAP so we can get this document finalized.
- Fire symposium follow-up
J. Hatfield spoke about the committee meeting held in October to discuss the potential to hold a fire related symposium in the near future. Those who met decided that it is feasible to hold the symposium in the summer of 2012. The symposium will have minimal costs, a similar format to plains to peaks EMS conference, have didactic & manipulative skills, no medical topics, and no wildland topics since those conferences already exist. The committee is still looking for members to participate in the planning of this event. If interested, contact J. Hatfield for more information. More information on this subject to come!
Capt. Smith suggested that we look at state calendars to ensure no conflicts to ensure maximum participation.
- Calendar Items
J. Tillotson discussed concern over getting individuals classes needed to get certified, with having minimal attendees to facilitate the need of a full Academy. Capt. Smith suggested a model similar to the Rocky Mountain Fire Academy to try down the road.
No new calendar items presented. Please send training opportunities to A. Brooks to be posted online.
- New Business
- J. Hatfield stated that the PPFFA is re-designing their website with a new format. Any ideas for formatting are welcome! Please take a moment to review the website and send suggestions to J. Hatfield.
- P. Welsch suggested putting together a list of equipment/resources to distribute for inter-agency use. C. Soliz and J. Hatfield suggested the use of Facebook to ask for the availability of these items, and/or use the “contact us” tab on the website, and it can be distributed.
- Next Meeting & Pre-Meeting Training Topic
- J. Hatfield suggested our next meeting be to discuss 2012, and a focused objective for the next few years. Please bring your ideas and suggestions to this meeting, as well as terminology worksheets!
- The next meeting will be November 30, 2011 @ 1900 hrs @ Cimarron Hills FD HQ (1835 Tuskegee Pl.)
